Lighting With Reflectors

Gold Reflector

I used the golden reflector in this image to really warm up my subjects face. I had my assistant reflect from the side to add some shadow and depth to my subject’s face.

Silver Reflector

For this one I used the silver side of the reflector, to reflect some natural light back into my subject and eliminate the back lighting that would normally result from this positioning. Doing this really gave me some nice back light and a key source from the side on my subject’s face.

No Reflector

For this portrait, I positioned my subject in a harshly lit area, the sun was bright and definitely too intense for my exposure.

Diffusion

With the use of the diffusion part of the reflector, I was able to get more appealing soft light onto my subject. I was amazed to see how big of a difference the diffusion made. I had my camera at the same settings for both of these shots, and it was a great example of what diffusion can do with lighting.

Really well done! This is like reflectors 101 on your blog. You did a great job of showing what the reflectors can do. Take a look at my blog and let me know what you think. https://bendesigning.wordpress.com/2016/10/21/close-up-personal/
